Salary : NJC Scale 6 Point ie £11.40 per hr
Responsible to : Chief Executive and Trustees


JOB PURPOSE
The key objectives of this post are:
Co-ordinate and run Parent Supper Club, currently on Wednesday evenings.

Provide parenting support, advice, information & guidance to families with young people running away or being told to leave home, in order to promote constructive family relationships so that young people can achieve positive outcomes.

Deliver and facilitate group parenting skills courses and groups.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with parents to enable them to develop their understanding of adolescent behaviour and identify a range of strategies and skills in order to improve the relationship with their children.

Take a lead in the planning of evening group sessions for parents. This may be done by phone and e-mail as well as through planning meetings.

Ensure that the parents room is prepared for the session and left ready for use at the end of the evening

Be vigilant in safeguarding children from harm, and report any concerns about a child’s welfare to the Team Manager or Chief Executive Officer

Maintain sessional recording sheets and ensure participant evaluation is undertaken

Responsible for collecting and recording money

Ensure that policies and procedures within ReRun are adhered to, especially Confidentiality and Equality and Diversity within the context of Parent Groups.

Seek opportunities to empower parents to take part in the project’s decision making process and developments in service delivery.
