Supper Club Support Group

ReRun Dorset Parent Support Worker Gael Rowan hosted ReRun Dorset Runaways Service 1st Anniversary for the Supper Club Support Group in April 2010.

The charity has been hosting the Supper Club support group, which now has thirteen active members, every Wednesday for the past year.  Mums come from across the county to chat over a good meal and exchange ideas about how to improve their family life.

Reviews:  "It's been really helpful with my other children, not just the one running away," said Sally, mother of 4

"It's had a bit knock on effect in our family," said Annette, mother of 2, "now we listen to each other, no swearing at each other, before it was a battleground."

"I was looking for a long time for some support," said Jane, "I was sure I couldn't be the only parent who felt so isolated and it has been a great support."

1200 young people run away and stay overnight each year in Dorset and 1 in 9 young people will run away before they are 16.  ReRun provides Youth Outreach Workers and Parent Support Workers for families that are coping with a young person who is regularly away from home.
